Sometimes we think we’ve mastered the art of benign musing, but no thought is benign. Seemingly inconsequential thoughts soon become ideas, and they have a way of enveloping you. Without realizing what you’re doing, you’ve invested a significant amount of time on something you’d like to brush of as “just thoughts.” Emerson once said, “A man is what he thinks about all day.”

Thoughts are powerful, I’m just now realizing how not to let my brain get the best of me. I’ve found that nothing except the remembrance of Allah Almighty can give us the highest control over our thoughts and desires. The people described by Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ as having wisdom are  those who “Remember their Lord standing, and sitting, and lying on their sides.”

Hope you enjoyed this somewhat cryptic post. Think smart.

Eid Mubarak!

May you all have a blessed and happy Eid!

Beginning from the Fajr of the 9th Zulhijjah up to the ‘Asr prayer of the 13th, it is obligatory on each Muslim to recite the Takbir of Tashriq after every fard prayer in the following words.

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,

La Ilaha Illallahu, Wallahu Akbar,

Allahu Akbar wa lillahilhamd.

(There is no god but Allah and Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.)
